Becoming a Caregiver

“Choose a job you love, and you’ll never have to work a day in your life.” Confucius and Mark Twain are both credited with having said this. Indeed, our best caregivers have compassion and real dedication to providing quality of life at Angel House. 

In the small, holistic ALF setting like ours, we feel more like family members than “staff”; many love the work here because of that closeness with our residents, singing, walking, playing games…. Creating great meals from healthy ingredients, helping our residents with activities of daily living, including medication management – these are all part of a caregiver’s day at Angel House. Steps to become a Caregiver: 

1. Download/Fill out the Caregiver Application in the downloads section below.
2. Fax or Email application to us at 954-476-5079.
3. Level 2 Background check (as per AHCA Requirements)
4. Complete CPR / First Aid
5. Complete Medication Training (6 hours CE)

At Angel House, our interns and volunteers not only enhance the quality of life of our residents and day clients, but also lend an extra hand to our caregivers. We appreciate your help with activities, games, walking/exercise and hydration – do you like to cook? It’s a fit - They love to eat great food! And the time you spend with them is so appreciated by the wonderful people we care for.  

If you want to try caregiving out, why not volunteer with us? We’ll help with free training, so you learn and become qualified for a very fulfilling career in senior care. If you’re more the gardening, networking or tech and administrative type, you may enjoy volunteering in our office or at our Davie farm center, where you’ll learn a whole new way of easier farming!  Please tell us about your talents and interests, your dreams and passion.
